Research and Investigation into Anomalous Light Phenomena
on and over Lake Ontario, Ontario, Canada

22nd May 2015

North Shore, Lake Ontario

Having just recently acquired the video camera, I drove the 2+ hours south to the north shore of Lake Ontario in Oakville. I set up the camera on the tripod at approximately the same spot that I used in May 1997.

The brilliant light sources appeared a little further east than those I recorded in 1997. The weather was fine with fairly calm conditions on the water but the horizon was extremely hazy.

According to T. Roy Dutton's chart on calculating the horizon, the height at which the camera was located would suggest an approximate horizon (where sky meets water) of five statute miles

(Ref: The late T. Roy Dutton provided the horizon calculation chart. Please refer to our web page: T. Roy Dutton for details.)

Camera: Canon VIXIA HF G30 with x20 optical zoom. A Canon TL-H58 x1.5 tele-converter was attached which provided x30 magnification.
