5th June 1997 - Fifty Point
On 5th June 1997 I went to a new observation location further round to the South shore of Lake Ontario.
The SuperVHS video camera was set up on a sturdy tripod and facing out over the Lake.
However a bright, ever-moving column of light seen through the afternoon heat haze over the water caught my attention. This light was closer in to shore along to my right towards Niagara.
Focus was a tad of a challenge due to only having a small viewfinder on the camera, plus the haziness over the water made things more difficult. Unfortunately I did not set the tripod up quite correctly on the uneven terrain.
A sailing boat slowly entered from the right and passed between the camera's location and the column of light. I wondered if anything could be seen from the boat occupants’ point of view.
I recorded the column of light for a while and eventually it faded away
